Bodice and skirt  1740-45.

A bodice and a skirt. The bodice is laced center front over a stomacher. Made from ribbed silk with ruchings made of ricrac ribbon and silk ribbon roses.

The skirt is supported by Pocket Hoops.  It is made from 2 heights of the fabric, tied over the tabs of the bodice and closed in the left side by ribbons. To accomodate the Pocket Hoops. it is fanpleated at each side of the hoops.

The royal blue ribbed silk and the silk brokade. This silk brokade was used in the moovie about Catherine the Great, she wore a riding jacket with this silk brokade.

This is the two silk fabrics. The silk Lampas, Brunswick & fils for the skirt, the blue for the jacket. A sampler of the ruching. The edges of the ruching is cut with a bow scissors.  The ribbon to the left is used to lace the jacket together over a stomacher.

Hip Panniers.

The skirt is cut and i have to make a pieceing in the top back skirt to get the pattern fitting of the side seams.   I shall make two slits each side of the hips where the skirt clothes each side.

I have pinned the blue ruched trimming on the cotton model to see how it looks.

The jacket has a little point at the center back.

The stomacher embroidery. I think i have to curve the angle in the top of the design.

The sampler of the embroidery. The embroidery is going to be monocrome in collour,  only silver spangles breaks the grey collour.

Fichu or neckerchief edged with fine cotton lace.

Fichu is made of the finest linnen you can imagine. Its hemstitched in the hand and the lace is catched on by hand.

The shoulder straps just needs to be reduced in lenght of 2 cm.

The stomacher embroidery. I have drawn the pattern on a water soluble fabric, basted it on top of the blue silk and startet to embroider. When the embroidery is done, ill dipp the stomacher in water, and the water soluble will dissapear.

After dipping in warm water, the soluble has dissapeared.

The stomacher is assembled and pressed.
